February Recent Eats/Updates

Study break time! It's been awhile since my last post, and since then I finished my last final exam and am currently studying for boards. Here's some tasty things that I've had in the meantime (I haven't been using my DSLR much since it takes awhile to edit the photos, so camera phone and Instagram it is -- if you follow me on Instagram, then you've seen most of these). 

Twin lobster tail and tons of other goodies from Mitchell's Ocean Club. Khoi took me here for our belated anniversary dinner, and I was blown away.

The menu said the carrot cake had 10 layers, so we had to see for ourselves. 'Twas difficult eat. 

And my cocktail...what is this magic.

Coq au vin. I've always wanted to attempt this dish and had it bookmarked for the longest time, but never got around to it until it was on the menu for a recent cooking class. It's delish, I definitely should've gotten around to making it sooner.

Gnocci con bolognese, spaghetti alla carbonara, and tiramisu at Marcella's. My PI treated a group of us out to dinner -- this is what I work hard for :)

Salted black sesame milk tea with bubbles. Over winter break, I went to this really amazing boba place in LA called Half and Half where I tried a similar drink (unfortunately I didn't have any pics of it for my winter break post). And while my attempt to replicate it wasn't nearly as good as the real thing, this really hits the spot. People make fun of my mug though when I bring it to the library :(
