Circa Foggy Bottom

I'm sick of New American food now. I mean there's only so many ways you can dress up wings, pizza, mac 'n cheese, shrimp 'n grits, brussels sprouts, etc etc before it all tastes the same.

Not that there was anything wrong with Circa. I can't tell whether I enjoyed the food here because it was great or because I was famished (I was pretty hungry that day...). Like these wings, they were great. The pieces were generous and meaty, with an Asian-inspired teriyaki sauce accompanied by ranch and crudites. And the portion was big considering the price.

This pizza was great too. It had all the ingredients of a great bbq chicken pizza, and the bbq sauce itself was perfectly tangy.

And lastly the mac 'n cheese. It's not a huge portion but very hearty and filling. The sauce was perfectly creamy and they didn't forget the bacon nor the toasted breadcrumbs, so there's nothing to complain about. And also we got sweet potato fries (not pictured) which were tasty too, although it's very difficult to mess up so I can't give them too much credit for that.

Even though it was a great meal...I don't think I would return. New American, we need to go on a break. Maybe we'll meet again in the future and who knows, absence may make the heart grow fonder. It was a great chance to meet up with old friends though, and for that, I was pleased with this meal.
