This is still a food blog

But...I want to share what I did with my hair. I was feeling frumpy and blah, and really wanted to go lighter for summer. So I bought this...

Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color in B1 Cool Brown, a high lift shade, meaning that it's more effective for lightening dark hair than your regular dye (probably because this has more bleach).

After dyeing, the color looks obvious only with flash or under direct light.

See? Very subtle. In fact, most people at work didn't notice. It was a little too subtle...

A week later, I was already itching again because darnit I want lighter hair. I got the Revlon Frost and Glow in Honey, and did a strand test to see how long it would take to get caramel highlights (~25 minutes on virgin Asian hair).

Annnnd I looked ridiculous, I can't believe I'm posting this on the internets.

Oooo highlights.

It's just a little brighter but still office appropriate. The itch continues, I think I could go even lighter, but I'm going to let my hair recover for a couple months before further experimentation. Until next time...
