California Road Trip: Carmel Belle

After visiting the Monterey Aquarium, doing through 17-mile drive, dining at Passionfish (which was AMAZING but I have no pics, sadface), and spending the night in Carmel, we were starving the next morning. We originally had plans to just eat at Sebastian's store in San Simeon, but it was closed that day, so we made an impromptu brunch pit stop before driving down.

The menu, damn

Fresh flowers, d'aww you shouldn't have

My polenta with everything: truffled mushrooms, poached eggs, goat cheese, and roasted tomatoes. This was absolutely incredible. The goat cheese went surprisingly well with the tomatoes, which just pop in your mouth. I'm going to try and recreate this sometime...

David's bacon, lettuce, and arugula open-faced sandwich. This was very simple and just okay.

Fresh fruit bowl, since we were bad and hadn't been eating fruits or veggies all week. I wish the portion was bigger since this small bowl was almost $10.
