California Road Trip: Sushi Ota

Sushi Ota is probably the best sushi restaurant in SD, and with good reason. Previously, I've only experienced cheap-ish rolls at AYCE or buffet-type places, so I had no idea what fish that "melts in your mouth like butter" meant until this meal.

Sashimi Ota. The tuna belly and the uni (aka sea urchin) were incredible. Oh and do you see that shrimp head? It was twitching during our meal because they cut the head off right before they plated it. They went and deep fried it for us after we were done with all of the sashimi.

Salmon belly, which we ordered a la carte on recommendations from Yelp. Holy delicious, I could eat this all day.

We still weren't too full, so we ordered the osusume sushi, which is somewhat similar to our first order except with rice. This really hit the spot, or actually it overshot the spot a bit because we were stuffed. The entire meal was delicious, and I can definitely see this growing on me (which would sadly be an expensive habit).
